LONDON – 09 December 2015 – VIRTUS Data Centres Ltd. (VIRTUS), the UK's fastest growing data centre provider, today announced that it has been successful in achieving supplier status with the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) as part of the G-Cloud 7 initiative. As a result of this accomplishment, VIRTUS will now be able to extend access to its Managed Cloud Connect Infrastructure Service (VMCCI) to government departments utilising G-Cloud. VIRTUS has an established track record of providing data centre services directly to government and public sector, and having purchased its new LONDON4 facility last week, VIRTUS is now able to offer these organisations with the widest choice of public, private and hybrid cloud services across a range of locations. This removes the burden of relying solely on public Internet for access in order to address the security, performance and quality of service challenges they face. The Crown Commercial Service (CCS) works with departments and organisations across the whole of the public sector to ensure maximum value is extracted from every commercial relationship and improve the quality of service delivery. The CCS goal is to become the 'go-to' place for expert commercial and procurement services. The VIRTUS Managed Cloud Connect Infrastructure solution supports the Government's policy to centrally manage the procurement of common goods and services through an integrated commercial function at the heart of government. VMCCI can be used by organisations across the UK public sector including central government, local government, health, education, devolved administrations, emergency services, defence and not-for-profit organisations. Matthew Larbey, Director of Product Strategy, VIRTUS Data Centres, said: "It's a great achievement for VIRTUS to be awarded supplier status with the CCS – one that has come as a result of a lot of hard work to provide the most scalable, reliable and flexible cloud ecosystem in the market. We look forward to broadening our relationship with the public sector, helping to secure the best possible cloud deals to achieve the most intensive infrastructure needs."
