London, UNITED KINGDOM – 29 October 2015 – VIRTUS Data Centres Ltd. (VIRTUS), the UK’s fastest growing data centre provider, today announced a series of partnerships which will enhance the connectivity ecosystem of its LONDON2 data centre. Recent agreements with providers including TalkTalk, SSE Enterprise Telecoms and Venus will provide LONDON2 customers with a wider, more diverse range of connectivity services, encapsulating both broadband and fiber providers. These partnerships will increase the specialist solutions on offer to VIRTUS customers across verticals such as financial services and content & digital media amongst others. A number of these providers, have seen continued growth through their relationship with VIRTUS, having already deployed within its LONDON1 data centre. Including a mix of fibre and broadband providers, the deals augment the connectivity solutions within LONDON2, which already offers multiple Tier 1, Tier 2, national and global providers. VIRTUS has significantly eased the construction work required of new providers, having installed a fully diverse multi sub-duct network during the build of LONDON2. This enables providers to easily interconnect to the VIRTUS data centre and pull fibre through from existing routes, allowing telecommunications companies to physically connect to one another and exchange data. VIRTUS has seen strong demand for Phase 1 of data hall space at LONDON2, which opened in December 2014, and this has driven the need to build out Phase 2 expansion ahead of schedule. The increase in customer density creates an attractive proposition for providers, and in turn the influx of connectivity operators generates an upsurge in choice for the customers themselves. LONDON2’s proposition is further strengthened by its location, which opens up international opportunities for businesses through being linked to fibre routes that are connected to mainland Europe yet avoid London, as well as routing across the Atlantic. “It’s a significant step for us to be connecting to VIRTUS’ flagship LONDON2 data centre,” said Colin Sempill, managing director of SSE Enterprise Telecoms. “As a company, we’ve made substantial investment in our UK network in recent years. VIRTUS’ customers expect speed, latency and reliability from their providers. Our innovative networking services bring ultra-resilient solutions to a greater number of businesses that have absolutely no tolerance for downtime. Connecting to prime data centres such as LONDON2 in key business hubs, is part and parcel of our overarching strategy.” Matthew Larbey, Director of Product Strategy, VIRTUS Data Centres said: “We’re constantly seeking to provide the most optimised solutions to our customers and this was evident right from the start of our LONDON2 design. We made the investment to introduce a fully diverse multi sub-duct network and we’re now seeing the rewards with the ease at which we can introduce new connectivity providers. We’re seeing a mutual benefit growing between increasing numbers of providers and customers, as well as ensuring that LONDON2 continues to be a leading interconnection location in the market.” – ENDS – Previous article: VIRTUS Data Centres buys Infinity Slough data centre business < VIRTUS Data Centres buys Infinity Slough data centre business Next article: VIRTUS - Ddos Detection & Mitigation Service Providers VIRTUS - Ddos Detection & Mitigation Service Providers >
